Menotropin – HMG

Menopur Box

They use this medication to treat fertility problems in women. It provides follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH)
and luteinizing hormone (LH) that help stimulate healthy ovaries. They often combine Menotropin and human
chorionic gonadotropin or HCG in treatment.

Purified preparation of FSH and LH, comes from the urine of postmenopausal women. They also refer to Menotropin as
HMG. In combined with HCG they use it to treat hypogonadotropic hypogonadism in males. HMG stimulates
spermatogenesis. Patients with primary testicular failure are usually unresponsive.

Uses in Bodybuilding

The primary use of MHG in bodybuilding is as part of the Post Cycle Treatment program. High androgen steroids,
like testosterone and Dianabol cause the body to shut down its own testosterone production. With this in mind, recovery of these
levels are important because it helps to maintain the results achieved on steroids. The result of reduced testosterone
production is shrinking of the testicles. Along with this, is a radical reduction of sperm cells. There is a direct
correlation between sperm production and testical size. The larger testicals produce more sperm.

Steroids in effect, acts as birth control. The use of Clomid, HCG (Pregnyl) and MHG in combination or by themselves
is a typical choice after a cycle is completed.

As with most drugs, there are some things to consider before using them. Contra-indications includes anybody
having the following conditions. Thyroid or adrenal gland problems. Blood clotting disorders. Cancer of the
reproductive organs or tumors in the brain. Obesity, heart disease or have had a stroke. MGH can cause
dizziness. Some products that may interact with this drug include: gonadorelin.

Store the medication refrigerated or at room temperature between 3-25 degrees C. Protect from light.
Do not freeze any part of the drug. Keep all medicines away from children and pets. Once mixed you should
use the medication immediately.

Side Effects

Common side effects include: stomach cramps or bloating. In addition, users sometimes report headaches, pain and swelling.
Burning at the injection site. Weakness on one side of the body can occur. Slurred speech, sudden
vision changes or severe headache are also possible. Pain and or swelling of the calf muscles. Chest pain
and shortness of breath amongst others.

NOTE: Pretreatment with human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) is required prior to combining it with menotropins.
Various HCG dosages have been used. However continue for a period sufficient to achieve normal serum testosterone.

Spermatogenesis is stimulated with chorionic gonadotrophin (1000 – 2000 IU two to three times a week) and then
menotrophin is given in a dose of 75 or 150 units of FSH with 75 or 150 units of LH two or three times weekly. Treatment
should be continued for at least 3 or 4 months. This is the official dosage. Because few people use it in South-Africa there is
not a lot of feedback on the duration of use.

Mostly unknown in the South-African market, Ciccone Pharma will be launching their version HMG in February 2019.
