Caffeine, like ephedrine will increase the circulation of norepinephrine but in addition to this also inhibits the production of the enzyme called phophodiesterase or PDE. PDE cause a lowering in the amount of adenosine mono-phosphate. By blocking the effects of PDE the overall fat burning process is increased.

Naringin is a natural compound found in grapefruit and inhibits the production of the enzymes cytochorme p450. Of particular interest is that one of these enzymes produced by the liver, known as PYP1A2, is responsible for the metabolizing of caffeine. The use of Naringin therefore allows caffeine to stay active in the system for longer. In addition, studies have shown that Naringin may increase absorption of caffeine allowing faster action and prolonged fat burning effects.
