The substance clomiphene citrate belongs to the group of drugs dealing with sex hormones but is not an anabolic steroid. Clomid is used to stimulate ovulation in women but has some interesting effects when used by men in conjunction with or after the treatment of anabolic steroids. During the intake of steroids the body reduces its own testosterone production due the unnaturally high levels cause by the intake of steroids. This leads to testicular atrophy and reduced spermatogenesis. The effect of the reduced testosterone production becomes a real problem when the use of steroids is suspended. The body then needs time to adjust and during this period the resulting low levels of testosterone has the opposite effect of anabolic steroids, causing the rapid loss of muscle size and strength.
By using Clomid, the hypopysis is stimulated to release more gonadotropin. This in turn leads to and increases in FSH (follicle stimulating hormone) and LH (luteinizing hormone) that will lead to an increase in the bodies own testosterone production.
The main difference between Clomid and HCG is that Clomid restores the entire cycle where as HCG only influences the Luteinizing hormone and therefore the body still has to restore the hormone cycle. Clomid is also an anti-estrogen much like Timoxifen found in Kessar and Nolvadex. Clomid has very few side effects and adverse reactions are very rare.
Dosage
Dosage ranges between 25 and 100mg per day for 5 to 10 days. Two cycles of 25mg per day for 5 days with a 5-day breaks is usually enough to get the desired results in the average user.
