Some insights into losing fat and gaining muscle Most guys want to gain muscle ad lose fat at the same time. In the old days guys used to bulk up excessively and then cut down. To a degree many guys still do that and that is why the choice of steroids to use and when to use them becomes so important. One needs to understand this practice in the context of competitions where the body fat % is reduces to a ridiculously low level. The average steroid user will never get his body fat that low nor does he want to. With this in mind I thought it would help if I explained some of the dynamics guys experience on a steroid course, especially first time users. The most common starting point is that guys want to put on 10kgs say, (usually it’s something ridiculous like 30kgs but that is just inexperience). The key element that is missing is body fat %. An example to demonstrate; you got two similar guys, both on a cycle. They both weight the same and have the same at 90Kgs and they have the same body fat % say 20%. This means that (simplified for the sake of explaining) they have 18Kgs of body fat and 72Kgs of muscle. The one guy bulks up as much as possible and gets his weight to 102Kgs at 20% body fat, the other diets and looks at quality gain rather than bulk, gains 4Kgs of weight to go to 94Kgs and reduces his body fat to 12%. Now we analyze; Our bulker went from 72Kgs of muscle to 82Kgs so he gained 10Kgs of muscle but he also increased his body fat to 20Kgs so he gained 2Kgs of fat even though the % amounts are the same. Now lets look at the other scenario. Our second guy went from 72Kgs of lean muscle to 83Kgs so he gained 11Kgs but he also went from 18Kgs of fat to 11Kgs so he lost 7Kgs of fat. Now, who look bigger in clothes? Jip, our bulkier guy but who look better out of clothes? My experience has shown that the lower your body fat is the bigger you tend to look because all you see is muscle instead of bulk. So this is all easy to understand but where to now? It basically shoes you that if you approach your cycle in a holistic way and use the steroids to gain muscle but to also help reduce muscle loss while you are dieting and adding in cardio you can kill two birds with one stone. The next lesson here is to understand The Anabolic/Androgenic profiles of steroids and how to manipulate them to help achieve theses goals. Large doses of test are great for bulking but it also promotes fat retention, water retention and yes also muscle gains. Understating profiles will help you trade off bulking and quality. If you understand that size is not everything and what you tip the scale at is not always what makes you look big then you can graduate to the next level and really start experimenting.
