Even though I know exactly how to diet and why it is important to have a consistently good diet, I still find it hard to eat correctly for long periods of time. Instead I find it easier to do a radical 6 week diet.
Here is how I go about it. Note that this is not a bulking diet, the idea is to lose fat. For protein, I try and prepare chicken breasts for at least 5 days at once and keep it in the fridge in the correct portions for daily consumption. I also use tuna to create a bit of variety when I need it. Protein shakes are also very handy. The carbohydrate components are sweet potato, jacket potatoes, brown rice and weetbix. I nuke the sweet potatoes and potatoes in the microwave and cook the brown rice as normal.
Serving size:
Protein shake is one standard serving giving you 20g of protein
Chicken breast is a med sized breast
Tuna is half a tin
Sweet potato/potato is is a small med sized
Brown rice is 4 heaped tablespoon of cooked rice
Serving components: a meal constitutes a combination of any protein serving with a carb serving.
Here is the basic breakdown:
07H00 - Protein shake - one serving, 1 Weetbix bar with low fat milk.
10H00 - Meal + 300ml water
13H00 - Meal + 300ml water
16H00 - Meal + 300ml water
19H00 - Meal + 300ml water
21H00 - Protein shake
Boring and horrible I know, but within a week your metabolism will speed up like crazy. You find that you have to visit the loo 2 or even 3 times a day.
