Post Cycle Treatment and Timoxafien

I have recently been getting a lot of mails from people under the impression that Timoxafien, better known by the trade names Kessar and Nolvadex, is used as a PCT. I’m not sure where this information is coming from but it is not entirely correct.

Timoxafien is an oestrogen blocker and basically how it works is that it will bind on oestrogen receptors and in doing so blocks the oestrogen binding on these sites and cause the typical oestrogen side effects. Timoxafien was originally used with steroids to reduce the oestrogen effects. Large amounts of steroids convert to oestrogen and so water retention and stop on become common. The process is called aromatizing. Timoxafien works only mildly at doing this and is not very effective. Still it is cheaper than other more effective oestrogen blockers like Arimidex. It does work well during cutting cycles and this is where is predominantly used effectively. In my option it is a waste of time on heavy bulking cycles. The same goes for using it as PCT.

As the steroids cycle ends the testosterone level drops rapidly and in the short term, 5-7 days there may be a higher oestrogen level in the body. This drops rapidly as well because it is a function on the excess testosterone from the steroid cycle. You can see this happing when people start dropping water after a cycle; this is sign that the oestrogen level is dropping rapidly and really is not much of a factor. The main concern in PCT treatment is the restoration of the testosterone level (Pregnyl) and production (Clomid). Clomid does have anti-oestrogen properties anyway so using Timoxafien won’t do harm but one has to question if you are getting anything back for your money during a PCT.
